T&S says it's goodnight to the Day&Nite fascia The Day & Nite fascia will be phased out within 18 months says T&S Stores, the new owner of the northern chain. T&S bought the 100 strong chain this week for £25.5m. And the rumour circulating the Association of Convenience Stores' annual conference  held in Chester this week  was that T&S was in talks with at least one other regional chain. T&S chief executive Jim McCarthy would neither confirm nor deny the rumours. However, McCarthy said T&S intended to acquire nine other stores already identified as Day & Nite. As the Day & Nite business is said to be "highly complementary" to the T&S operation  it is highly unlikely the new owner will be closing any stores. Frank Heald and Frank Dee, who led the aggressive expansion of Day & Nite in the past two years, will stay on with the company as it is integrated into T&S and its stores are rebranded as One Stops. The two Franks will also be made directors of another T&S subsidiary. As well as strengthening its presence in the north, the acquisition puts T&S bang on course with its target to operate 1,000 c-stores by 2002. It currently owns 787. The deal comes on top of its takeover of M&W and One Stop in the past three years. - The first Littlewoods internet terminal will be installed into a One Stop c-store in Shenstone next week. Five other stores will also receive terminals within the next couple of months. {{NEWS }}
