Jacob’s has earmarked a £5m marketing budget for its new cracker range JacoBites over the next 18 months.

The baked snacks, which come in Tempting Tandoori, Passionately Pizza and Blazing BBQ flavours, are aimed at the burgeoning shared snacking market, particularly among 20 and 30-somethings.

Each bag contains a selection of four different shaped crackers. The flat-bottomed 150g sharing bag retails at £1.49 and the 50g individual size will cost 49p.

Each variety has a signature colour to differentiate on shelf.

Sampling activity kicks off in the middle of this month and targets four million consumers via retail outlets, pubs, shopping centres and train stations as well as outdoor events.

Samplers will get the chance to win a holiday to one of three exotic destinations by voting for their favourite flavour. Point of sale activity, money-off coupons and PR will back the sampling activity.
