D&D Wines International and Golden State Vintners from California have joined forces to launch a new range of blended and single varietal wines under the brand name Golden State Vineyards.
The GSV range has been developed especially for the UK and includes a Ruby Cabernet Merlot, Petite Syrah, Malbec Merlot and a straight Malbec.
D&D Wines International said the wines had been blended to deliver a Californian style offering with quality "well above their respective £3.99 and £4.99 price points".

organic for tesco
Kingsland Wines and Spirits has developed an organic own label wine range for Tesco.
Due to appear in stores nationwide from May, it consists of an Australian organic red and a white sealed with screwcaps and priced at £4.99.
Kingsland Wines MD Nigel Gardener said: "We expect the demand for organic wines to increase, and it is the availability of high quality organic wines, such as the Tesco Australian range, which will be the key to the development of this market." Kingsland, which was accredited by the Soil Association in November, is now looking at developing a branded organic range.

Echo falls into box
Grants of St James's Wines is extending its Echo Falls brand into the bag in box format.
The range of three-litre wine boxes will feature three varietals, a Merlot, Unoaked Chardonnay and a White Zinfandel, all sourced from California's Central Valley and will be priced at £14.99.
Echo Falls is supported by a £1m investment from GSJW this year.
The spend includes a promotional campaign, trade advertising, sampling and tailor-made PoS material for retailers.
