Wilko has rolled out click & collect to all its 400 stores, in its latest move to help revive flagging sales.
Any online purchase can be ready to collect from store in as little as three hours, at no extra charge.
It is an extension of a service that Wilko began offering from about 70 stores last year.
In its latest reported results, for the year to 29 January 2022, Wilko credited online as a source of moderate growth, while total sales fell by £43.2m to £1.32bn, dragged down by flagging high street footfall.
Wilko has also enhanced its online delivery service with the option of a scheduled delivery time.
Meanwhile, third-party parcel collection points have been introduced in selected stores across the country, and the Klarna app has been introduced as payment option, meaning shoppers can buy now, pay later.
“Rolling out free same-day click & collect to all stores helps to ensure we’re providing hardworking families with a shopping experience that values their time and money,” said Wilko digital director Ben Exall.
“We’re delighted with the customer feedback following the improvements we’ve made in recent months – this is great recognition for Wilko team members and our partners, who are working tirelessly as we accelerate our omnichannel transformation.
“We continue to refine the Wilko shopping experience, with more customer improvements to launch in the coming months.”
