First Quench has appointed two operations directors to head the newly separated wine and drinks divisions of its Thresher off-licence chain.
Linda Burns, previously regional director for the north of England, has taken charge of the wine side of the business. Burns has previously held senior field management roles at Signet Group and Alexon. She will be driving the future development of the Thresher brand and the roll out of the Origin range and other exclusive products.
Karim Shad, previously regional director for the Midlands, will lead operations for the drinks retail division, incorporating Victoria Wine, Haddows and Drinks Cabin. His responsibilities will include maximising sales and the future development of the drinks retail business. Before joining Thresher Group last year, Karim held management positions at Signet Group, Autoglass and Woolworth's.
The move is part of First Quench's turnaround strategy. Chief executive David Williams said: "The focus brought by Linda and Karim will lead to better customer service."
