FS&DA product master 22-2

The organisers of the 2022 Farm Shop & Deli Show are highlighting the quality of UK food and drink products with a new awards scheme.

The Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards will be judged by experts from across the industry including retailers, suppliers and food developers.

Developed to recognise and reward the best in specialist food and drink products, the awards are open to products not available in national supermarket chains. A key aim is to showcase quality products sold in farm shops, delis and specialist food retailers.

The awards will be judged across six categories – meat, condiments, bakery, beverages, confectionery and preserves – under criteria such as appearance, taste, texture, aroma and value for money.

Judging will take place at the Farm Shop & Deli Show, taking place from 25 to 27 April at the NEC, Birmingham, where the winners will be revealed.

Winning a Farm Shop & Deli Product Award will help raise the profile of a product and give the supplier exposure including coverage in the Farm Shop & Deli News newsletter produced by The Grocer.

In addition, Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards accreditation and the use of the Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards logo will help winning products stand out from their rivals.

“Covid-19 amplified demand for locally-sourced, high-quality products and in creating these awards we hope to shine a spotlight on the fantastic producers we have in the UK and their unwavering dedication to excellence,” explained Andrew Reed, MD for events & exhibitions at Farm Shop & Deli Show organiser William Reed, which publishes The Grocer.

“It is fitting that, following a tough period in our industry’s history, we come together and launch these awards in recognition of this sector’s unparalleled expertise.”
