The event was hosted at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium for the very first time in its history and was co-hosted by grocery royalty: Radio 1 DJ and star of Made In Chelsea Jamie Laing, alongside The Grocer’s editor-in-chief Adam Leyland.

The event played host to a record number of attendees, with a room full of more than 560 guests to see the 44 awards handed out to deserving winners.

Judging took place over three days in July by our panel of expert judges, who spent many hours discussing the merits of each product in granular detail.

The array of products entered, tallying more than 400 in total, showed innovation was alive and kicking, said Leyland.

Of those shortlisted, each had a Gold, Silver or Bronze award to celebrate if they were not crowned champion of their category. See a full list of winners, as well as Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the bottom of this page.

This year marked the second time packaging has been included in the awards, which now features six dedicated categories including Composite Pack of the Year, Pack & Label Design of the Year, and Sustainability Pack of the Year.

As ever we awarded a Champion of Champions, this year to Unbeleafable’s Zesty Baby Leaves salad bag, made by GrowUp Farms, a vertical operation which says each bagged salad  is grown in a controlled indoor environment, a way of growing that eliminates the need for pesticides or chlorine and requires a staggering 97% less water than traditionally grown salad.
