Champion: Unbeleafable Zesty Baby Leaves
These Zesty Baby Leaves might have what our judges called an ”excellent, punchy citrus flavour” but that’s arguably the least impressive thing about them. GrowUp Farms, which is behind the product, has spent more than a decade growing what it classes as restaurant-quality salads at its innovative vertical farm in Kent.
Each bagged salad is grown in a controlled indoor environment, a way of growing that eliminates the need for pesticides or chlorine and requires a staggering 97% less water than traditionally grown salad. It also creates a product that lasts three times longer than other bagged salads currently in supermarkets, significantly reducing household waste.
