Champion: Richmond Roast Chicken Sausages
Though chicken is the nation’s most popular protein, it has often struggled to perform well in a sausage. While the value of the pork sausage market sits at around £760.3m, according to Richmond, chicken sausages are worth just £28.5m.
With consumers citing chicken’s blandness as a big problem, Richmond set about creating its completely redeveloped product with this in mind. It partnered with a new seasonings supplier to deliver all the flavour of a roast chicken, used only optimised cuts of meat for a firmer texture and bumped up meat content from 52% to 64%. The result is a product that “really delivers for its audience” and breathes some fresh life into the chicken end of the sausage market.
