Champion: Cathedral City’s Cheesy Meal Range - Macaroni Cheese
Marking Cathedral City’s first foray into the chilled meals aisle, this macaroni cheese is one of a four-strong range designed to add a bit of decadence to midweek meals.
It features 30% more cheese than the nearest own-label equivalent, a nice touch that made it feel “naughty and delicious”, with a “thick, creamy sauce” that more than justified the slightly higher price tag (£4). An “excellent brand extension”, said our judges, featuring an “impressively clean ingredient deck” and “punchy branding” that will not only resonate with existing fans of Cathedral City cheddar but more than likely convert new fans to the brand too.
