Craft brewer Meantime has bottled its Yakima Red ale to launch it into the off-trade.
The 4.1% abv ale - the first bottled beer from Meantime since the launch of London Lager two years ago - is being rolled out to Waitrose at the end of this month.
Made with five hops from America’s Yakima Valley, it is brewed with UK ale and crystal malt and packaged in the Greenwich-based brewer’s 750ml signature bottle (rsp: £1.59).
“Craft beer is becoming a massive opportunity for retailers,” said Meantime CEO Nick Miller.
Last week, The Grocer reported on a survey that found 38% of beer shoppers preferred smaller brands over market leaders.
