Wispa ice cream (Fredericks Dairies)

Fredericks Dairies is set to launch an ice cream version of Cadbury's Wispa brand in both impulse and take home formats. Rolling out at the end of March, the take home format will be a 750ml tub of what Fredericks' managing director David Taylor describes as "very high cocoa content ice cream", while the impulse product is an 80ml ice cream bar (rsp: £1.25).

Taylor believes the launch of Wispa ice cream will propel Fredericks into second position in the handheld sector, leapfrogging Mars. "


Rolo Sticks and Cones (R&R)
Launched: March 2011
Headlining R&R Ice Cream's 2011 range are two new products from Rolo Rolo Sticks and Rolo Cones. Sticks (£2.49 per three-pack) consist of caramel ice cream and two caramel sauce centres coated in milk chocolate, while Cones (£2.49 per four-pack) have a caramel sauce running through the cone and are topped with milk chocolate pieces.


Premium Dairy ice cream (Good Feeling Solutions)

Good Feeling Solutions is launching a premium Dairy ice cream. Made with traditional ingredients, it will target "middle income families who care about what they eat," says GFS founder Mike Lewis. The new ice cream arrives in Morrisons on 7 March, retailing at £2.79 for one litre.


Alcohol-infused ice creams (Loseley)

Loseley launched limited-edition whisky, Irish cream, mince pie and Courvoisier Cognac-flavoured ice creams as part of its 2010 festive range, but strong sales have convinced the producer to introduce them as a permanent line. In 500ml tubs, (rsp: £2.99), the desserts offer a full flavour sensation but contain less than 3% alcohol each, says Loseley.


Ice creams and frozen yoghurts  (Yeo Valley)
Relaunched: March 2011
Yeo Valley has relaunched its ice creams and frozen yoghurts. A new Greek Style Frozen Yoghurt with a swirl of honey will join the original Strawberry Frozen Yoghurt and Madagascan Vanilla Ice Cream, retailing in Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Tesco, The Co-op, Budgens and independents at £3.79 for 900ml. The new oval-shaped pots are ergonomically designed to make storage and scooping easier.

"Greek yoghurt has become very popular in our range, so we're expecting customers will enjoy the frozen version just as much," says Ben Cull, head of brand marketing at Yeo Valley.
