In a recent article on the Food Standards Agency’s list of CBD products with an active application for novel foods authorisation, The Grocer included Body & Mind’s CBD range as being among the 120 brands not included, and noted the FSA’s guidance that ingestible “CBD products not on the list should be removed from sale”.
Since publication the FSA has clarified that Body & Mind Botanical’s range of organic hemp products with naturally occurring CBD do not need to be on the public list to be traded and may continue to be sold.
This is because its range comprises hemp and related products like cold-pressed oils containing CBD that “are not novel because there is evidence to show a history of consumption before May 1997”, a spokeswoman said.
