Halal food company Tahira Foods has won a contract to supply Harrods with chocolate Ramadan calendars. Similar to a Christmas advent calendar, the Ramadan calendar contains 30 pieces of milk chocolate in a box decorated with Islamic illustrations.

“The calendar helps bring home the purpose of Ramadan to children in a delicious way,” said Faiza Akmal from Tahira Foods. “Harrods is internationally renowned for the quality of the products it sells and we are delighted they will be offering the calendar to their customers.”

Meanwhile, Morrisons is offering 20% off its Asian World Foods range to celebrate the start of Ramadan next week.

“Ramadan is a huge religious festival. This exclusive offer means our customers can come to us for the best in Asian food – all at incredible prices,” said Suzanne Laverack, grocery buyer at Morrisons.

The retailer recently expanded its Asian World Food offer to more than 330 lines.
