Gü Chocolate Puds is downsizing in its bid for expansion.
The company, headed by former Uniq executive James Averdieck, is adding mini desserts to its existing portfolio of upmarket chocolate-based desserts.
Two new offerings - Gü Cheeky Little Chocolate Puds and Gü Boozy Little Chocolate Puds - are aimed at giving health-conscious consumers a week-night “chocolate hit” without piling on the pounds.
The former features chocolate and orange truffle made with more than half cocoa chocolate, while the Boozy addition is a chocolate and Amaretto truffle.
Both come in packs of three 50g mini pots (rsp: £2.49), and are set to roll out to selected Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores from this month.Averdieck’s partner for his Gü venture is manufacturer Rensow Patisserie.
