The company is expecting to deliver four million meals to 380,000 UK households over the next four weeks

Gousto is looking to immediately recruit 100 factory staff amid soaring demand for DTC meal solutions.

Last week The Grocer reported the recipe box provider would no longer be accepting new customers as it sought to prioritise “loyal users with existing subscriptions”.

The new positions at Gousto’s factory in Spalding, Lincolnshire include section leaders, team leaders and shift supervisors.

“We are expecting to deliver four million meals to 380,000 UK households over the next four weeks,” said Gousto founder and CEO Timo Boldt. “To do this to our usual high standards, we need to hire more incredibly talented people to join our team.”

“Our top priority is to continue supporting households in need of a reliable home-cooked meal, safely and in accordance with NHS and World Health Organisation guidelines,” Boldt added.

The hires are part of a wider recruitment drive for the company, which is looking to fill 300 roles by the end of the year and 700 by the end of 2022.

The majority of the new roles are in operations at the Spalding factory, but also include technology roles at its London office.
