Pret a Manger’s retail coffee range has been delisted by Tesco, The Grocer can reveal.
The high-street coffee chain’s Original Espresso Blend coffee beans and pods, Classic Blend ground coffee and pods, and Single-Origin Peru ground coffee have all disappeared from Tesco shelves over recent weeks.
Pret confirmed its retail coffee range was not currently available at Tesco and advised the range was still listed at other retailers, including Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose and Ocado.
Pret debuted the coffee range in May 2020 to target locked-in Brits it claimed were “missing it from their daily lives”.
It marked the start of a wider retail rollout for the brand: a trio of frozen ready-to-bake croissants followed, hitting Tesco in March 2021, and are still sold by the retailer.
The brand then moved into breakfast cereals in April 2021 and ketchups in June.
However, the breakfast cereals and ketchups also appear to have vanished from Tesco’s shelves over recent weeks, and were not available online at the time of writing.
Research by The Grocer using Assosia data shows its Chipotle Ketchup and Korean Style Ketchup have been absent from Tesco since as far back as mid-May [52 w/e 26 August 2022].
Its breakfast cereals, meanwhile – Original Granola, Dark Chocolate & Almond Granola, Bircher Muesli and Coconut Crunch Granola – have been gradually vanishing from Tesco shelves since early 2022, the data shows.
