Landmark Wholesale has appointed Ian Davidson as its new marketing director to take over from Chris Rose who is retiring next May.

Davidson will join the buying group from Whyte & Mackay, where he is cash & carry/wholesale channel manager. He has previously worked for confectioner Bonds of London, Pernod Ricard UK and Weetabix.

Davidson will take up his new post in January and will work with Rose until he steps down at Landmark's annual conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

"Ian will bring passion, energy and intellect to the role, along with a wealth of commercial experience," said Landmark Wholesale MD Martin Williams.

Landmark is also restructuring its trading department, which could signal the expansion of its foodservice business. Details have not been confirmed, however. The group is hiring trading controllers to work at its head office in Milton Keynes and is looking for applicants with experience in catering and delivered foodservice.
