Cravendale has an enviable history of fantastical creative adverts – Cats with Thumbs, Moonicow, Barry the Biscuit Boy, It’s Not Milk. Now the brand is taking another interesting step… into the real world.
The ad is reminiscent of Yeo Valley’s rap/boyband ads, except it features real Cravendale dairy farmers having a bash at singing Everybody’s Free by Rozalla. And… well, you can hear why they are farmers and not pop stars, let’s say. The cows and a local in the pub certainly seem bemused by their off-key efforts.
But their musical ineptitude is rather charming: it makes the farmers look brave and fun. And the song underlines the brand’s free-grazing message – as do some beautiful shots of cows and scenery, and an end-of-ad reminder, of course.
