Senior Mars executive Mike Davies has been appointed chief executive officer of specialist chocolate retailer Thorntons.
Davies, who took up his new role yesterday, replaces Peter Burdon who resigned as CEO last week.
He has worked for Mars for 20 years, during which time he has held a number of senior positions including managing director of the UK and Ireland, European vice president of sales and president of Latin America.
