Two leading forces in farm assurance have joined ranks.

FABBL Farm Assurance, responsible for ensuring standards in British beef and lamb production, has merged with the independent European inspection service EFSIS.

FABBL will now be known as EFSIS-FABBL and will form part of a new EFSIS agricultural division which will be run from offices at Milton Keynes.

FABBL chairman Ian Frood said: “By joining forces with EFSIS, we will be able to benefit from increased efficiencies and still deliver a first class service to members, including combined inspections against other sector assurance schemes such as Assured Produce, ABPigs and Organic Farmers and Growers.”

He said the move would not affect the day to day operations.
