Morrisons is set to recruit 3,000 new jobs this Christmas to meet the increased demand during the busy holiday period.
The retailer is looking for extra colleagues for its distribution centres and manufacturing sites across the country, both in permanent and temporary positions.
The roles available range from warehouse and production operatives to packers, pickers and forklift truck drivers.
No prior experience is required as Morrisons will provide full training for all positions.
“Customers have told us they want to make up for last year’s low-key festive season, and so we are working hard to make sure our shelves are stocked with everything they need to help them celebrate,” said Morrisons people director Clare Grainger.
“We are looking for 3,000 Christmas helpers to come and join our busy, fast-moving and exciting team on a temporary or permanent basis and help make good things happen this Christmas.”
Morrisons has also joined the Kickstart scheme and welcomes applicants between the ages of 16 to 24 who are receiving universal credit.
The supermarket is offering a £10 per hour starting salary, or the equivalent after successful completion of the probation period.
Benefits also include flexible hours and shift patterns to suit, as well as a 10% staff discount.
Retailers are anticipating a busier-than-usual festive season as people are set to gather with loved ones after the pandemic made it impossible to do so last year.
Sainsbury’s recently announced it was creating 22,000 seasonal jobs as part of its largest-ever Christmas recruitment drive, while Aldi said it was taking on 1,500 temporary store staff over the festive period.
