Somerfield has appointed John Cleland as retail director.
Cleland, who will take up his new role later this month, joins the retailer from DIY chain B&Q where he was commercial director.
He will join former Tesco grocery trading director Colin Smith who The Grocer revealed last month had been appointed Somerfield's trading and marketing director. He took up his new role this week.
And Last month CEO Steve Back was ousted in favour of former Asda boss Paul Mason, who joins Somerfield next month.
