Roberts will focus on growing the Re:Water brand in his role as commercial director

Aluminium bottled water brand Re:Water has appointed Lee Roberts as commercial director.

Roberts will join the business on 21 February from his current role as MD at commercial consultancy Canvas Partnerships, where he secured “high-profile listings” for Re:Water at events including the G7 Summit and COP26.

In the newly created role, he will focus on growing the Re:Water brand and help it “advance the fight against single-use plastic”, it said.

He has over three decades of senior commercial experience and “oversaw landmark deals” with AB InBev and Pepsi during his time as commercial director at The O2.

Bringing Roberts – who had “a wealth of experience with an astute commercial mind” – on board was “a real coup for our young brand”, said Re:Water co-founder Ben Richardson.

Re:Water was “developing some exciting new products and having Lee on the team to take them to market will massively strengthen our position, as the work that he has already done for us with the likes of COP26 clearly demonstrates”, he added.

Roberts added: “I have witnessed the incredible reaction to the launch of Re:Water.

“Their passion and drive to improve the environment made the decision to join the team very, very easy.”

Roberts added that he was “looking forward to helping them further develop the commercial side of Re:Water and get more people drinking water out of aluminium bottles rather than single-use plastic.”
