Logistics provider DX has appointed Paul Ibbetson as its new group CEO with immediate effect.
The incoming CEO has over 25 years of experience in senior roles across the parcels, freight and logistics sectors.
Ibbetson spent over 10 years as operations director of Tuffnells Parcel Express, before joining DX in 2017 as MD of the business’ freight division.
He previously held senior positions at Target Parcels Express and Business Post.
DX said Ibbetson had been instrumental in securing the business’ return to profitability and growth after it suffered an £82m loss in 2017.
He was also responsible for restructuring the division, including its sales and commercial functions.
“I am delighted to take up the role of chief executive officer,” said Ibbetson. “I believe that DX is in a strong position to build on the firm foundations that have been established over the last five years and has further significant growth opportunities ahead of it.”
“We have a highly experienced and talented team, and I look forward to working alongside all my colleagues and the board to drive the next stage of DX’s development.”
DX chairman Mark Hammond said: “Paul has been an important member of the DX senior management team since he joined the Group in 2017.
“He has a very strong record of success and is highly regarded by his colleagues. We are delighted to welcome him as DX’s new chief executive officer and are confident in his ability to lead and shape the group’s ongoing growth.”
Ibbetson will temporarily retain responsibility for the management of DX Freight until a new appointment is made.
It comes as the business hailed a strong trading period, with revenues in the 26 weeks to 31 December 2022 approximately 15% ahead of the same period last year.
