Samworth Brothers MD of supply chain Paul Bennell has been elected as the new vice president of the Cold Chain Federation.
Bennell has a wealth of experience, accrued across a 25-year career in the retail, health, manufacturing and automotive industries.
In 2010, Bennell joined Brakes as operations implementation director. He then spent two years as head of primary logistics at Co-op, before joining Samworth Brothers as MD in 2014.
He has sat on the board of directors at the Cold Chain Federation since 2019.
As vice president, Bennell will work with Cold Chain Federation president Tim Moran of Lineage Logistics.
“Over the past three years, the Cold Chain Federation has achieved major growth in our influence, our advisory service and our membership,” said Bennell.
“We have become a network that delivers on all fronts for our industry, and I am delighted to take on the role of vice president as we look to drive our federation forwards.”
Cold Chain Federation CEO Shane Brennan said: “I am delighted that Paul Bennell has become vice president as we build on this strong platform.
“Paul’s experience and expertise will be invaluable to the federation and how it serves its members, particularly in our growing provision for the chilled foods industry, at this time of economic transition.”
