This has expanded its senior leadership team with three new hires.
The meat alternative brand has appointed Dee Bulsara as marketing director, Jack Rutherford as commercial director and Daniel Angadi as operations director.
Bulsara has worked for major retailers, including Sainsbury’s and Argos, and has led strategic growth and brand marketing for scale-ups, such as Soap & Glory, FitFlop and Kiddylicious.
Additionally, she was recognised as “one to watch” in LDC’s list of the Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders in 2020.
In her role as marketing director, Bulsara will work closely with the wider marketing team on strategy management, campaign development and brand marketing for This.
Rutherford, meanwhile, will head up the commercial growth strategy for This.
He has a decade’s experience in fmcg and was most recently UK sales director for Lily’s Kitchen. Rutherford has also worked for Diageo and Sainsbury’s in commercial and buying roles.
Angadi has joined the business from his previous role as head of European supply at Innocent.
Bringing “a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role”, he will lead the operations team, helping to facilitate and drive the business’s ambitious growth and innovation plans.
Their combined almost 50 years’ experience across fast-growth and leading fmcg brands would help to “supercharge This’s rapid growth”, it said.
The business – which was founded by Andy Shovel and Pete Sharman in 2019 – recently launched a £4m crowdfunding campaign to supercharge its growth.
Shovel said the appointments of Bulsara, Rutherford and Angadi would help ensure “that Pete and I behave and run This like adults”.
The new hires follow the appointment of ex-Wahaca and Eat Real boss Mark Turner as MD at the end of 2021.
According to Turner, the demand for plant-based food was continuing “to grow at pace”.
“With excellent products and a strong brand”, This had “ambitious plans to lead and drive this growth”, he said.
“The combined experience of Jack, Daniel and Dee will be invaluable in helping us get there.”
