Wilko has recruited Haulfryn’s Dave Murphy to take on its new finance director role.
Murphy joins this month from a CFO role at UK park owner Haulfryn.
He previously served for six years at Pizza Express, where he was UK & Ireland FD, and held senior positions in finance at Tesco from 2007 to 2014.
In his new role, he will report to Wilko group CFO Karen Mackay.
“Dave has a strong background in business strategy and corporate finance and we look forward to deploying these skills as Wilko continues to develop its transformative, omnichannel journey,” said Wilko CEO Jerome Saint-Marc.
Murphy said: “I’m delighted to join the Wilko team and look forward to working closely with departments throughout the business as it continues to build on over 90 years’ experience on the Great British high street.”
It follows the recruitment of former Post Office executive Amanda Jones as Wilko retail director in April.
The privately owned retailer’s latest full-year accounts, for the 12 months ended 30 January 2021, show sales fell 7.3% to £1.4bn as lockdowns hit high street footfall.
