What was your first job? Carer at a cattery and kennels in Dubai.
What’s been your worst job interview? I was being interviewed by an e-commerce retailer and two sentences in I realised I had absolutely no interest in the job whatsoever. The interview didn’t last very long. Fortunately it was over the phone.
What was the first music single you bought? Heart of Glass by Blondie.
How do you describe your job to your mates? I make sure dogs and cats get the proper food they deserve.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? When we’re at events and providing lunch for dogs using our Doggie Diner, seeing the dogs wolf down the food and their owners exclaiming about how they’ve never seen them eat so excitedly.
What is the least rewarding part? Admin.
What is your motto in life? If you haven’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? Sunshine hours. We get so little good weather in the UK.
Do you have any phobias? Not keen on spiders. I can tolerate being around them, I just don’t trust them.
If you could change one thing in grocery, what would it be? Row upon row of products on cheap metal shelving just looks dreadful and depressing. I would bring each area of a store to life.
What luxury would you have on a desert island? A smartphone with unlimited battery power - you can stay informed, entertained and get everything you need. Does Amazon Prime deliver to desert islands yet?
What animal reflects your personality? Probably a dog, a Westie. Loyal, hard-working, intelligent, fun.
What’s your favourite film and why? The Fisher King. Bittersweet comedy drama with the late great Robin Williams.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? I was head boy at school (that’s not the embarrassing thing), and at the end of year prom the head girl and I had to lead the dancing. All eyes were on us. I can’t dance. It was dreadful, and I still carry the scars.
Which celebrity would you most like to work with and why? Patrick Stewart. Superb actor and very outspoken.
