Claire Higgins
Lucozade Sport senior brand manager at Lucozade Ribena Suntory on her love of cheese, disastrous interviews and the hazards of auto-correct
What was your first job? Washing up at a local pub when I was 16. I got £10 for the night, but I found out later that my parents had to pay a guy to give me a lift there so I’m not sure they quite saw the benefit I did!
What’s been your worst job interview? I was doing a trial day for a waitressing job when I was 17. I brought a roast dinner out to my first customer who was wearing a lovely cream jacket. The entire gravy boat found its way on to her jacket.
What was the first music single you bought? I always wish the answer to this was cooler than it is. It was Daphne & Celeste - Ooh Stick You.
How do you describe your job to your mates? My friends get sick of me talking about electrolytes and Anthony Joshua.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Our Made To Move campaign; we have pledged to get one million people moving more by 2020.
What is your motto in life? Be polite. Be grateful. Be humble. Be curious. Be ambitious. And always buy a round!
If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? Dogs in the office. I ask my boyfriend about four times a day if I can have a dog, and he’s staying strong that we can’t because we work long hours.
Do you have any phobias? Not being able to eat cheese again!
If you could change one thing in grocery, what would it be? I would love an app where you could input your shopping list, and it could tell me exactly where to find what I wanted.
What animal most reflects your personality? A labrador; I just love food and constantly eat too much. And I love playing catch.
What’s your favourite film and why? It has to be Elf. Definitely not just a Christmas film.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? I volunteered to help organise an office away day. It was in the countryside, and it chucked it down the day before. I sent an email out to the whole office advising on clothing, and in the biggest possible font wrote: ‘Don’t forget your wellies’. Unfortunately wellies got auto-corrected to something else…
Which celebrity would you most like to work with and why? Adele. Her laugh would just crack me up every day!
