What was your first-ever job? I worked in dog quarantine kennels because I’d always wanted to work with animals. It turned out there were more problem owners than problem dogs.
What’s been your worst job interview? I once had a telephone interview where it was such a bad line that it kept cutting out mid-sentence. I’m sure I didn’t manage to answer any of the questions properly, but somehow, I still managed to get the job.
What was the first music single you bought? One Step Beyond, by Madness.
How do you describe your job to your mates? I try not to talk about it too much, but depending on who I am talking to, I either say that I work in internet marketing or that we buy and sell traffic. That usually stops the conversation.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing people develop. Taking someone with no background in the online industry and watching them grow and develop a whole new skill set.
What is the least rewarding part? Doing my expenses; I was never any good at fiction writing.
What is your motto in life? I don’t really have one, but if I did it would be “Don’t take life too seriously.”
If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? Dinner with Sandra Bullock.
If you could change one thing in the grocery industry, what would it be? Buy one get one free promotions! Why? I only want one so why can’t I just pay less?
What luxury would you have on a desert island? I’d take a wind-up radio with me.
What animal most reflects your personality? My Welsh collie dog - loyal, loving and always on the go.
What’s your favourite film and why? Withnail and I, because it’s a beautiful reflection on a true friendship that goes toxic.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? Too many to say. But as a kid I knocked a hand off a shop dummy and tried to put it back on. It looked like I was trying to hold its hand.
Which celebrity would you most like to work with and why? It would have been Spike Milligan as we have the same sense of humour.
