What was your first-ever job? From the age of 10, I worked on a market stall in East Street Market, Peckham, selling women’s clothing.
What’s been your worst job interview? I have never had an interview I always wanted to work for myself.
What was the first music single you bought? Pump Up the Jam by Technotronic.
How do you describe your job to your mates? 24/7.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Walking past people seeing them eating Yog and thinking ‘I made that’!
What is the least rewarding part? When things go wrong.
What is your motto in life? Just do it. I have always had the attitude that you must keep going until you achieve your goals, no matter what the pitfalls are.
What’s your nickname? I don’t have one, as the name ‘Es’ is already abbreviated.
If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? I would love to be able to fly to work everyday in my own Icon A5 amphibious plane.
What’s your favourite movie and why? Enter the Dragon. It’s a super-cool movie. Who, as a boy growing up, wouldn’t want to be Bruce Lee?
What’s been the most embarrassing moment in your life? Being asked by an international Royal to put on his trousers, while I was tailoring for him. I used to be a tailor on Savile Row.
Do you have any phobias? Cotton wool, I hate the thought of being near it and I can’t touch it.
If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Jimmy Carr for the facial expressions alone! He is already a customer/fan of our products and I think he would make a mean Yog!
If you could change one thing in the grocery industry what would it be? More clearly identifying the food source so the consumer can be sure about where their food is coming from. This is something that we take very seriously here at Yog.
What luxury would you have on your desert island? An iPad with an everlasting battery life.
What animal best reflects your personality and why? A gorilla, for stature. I like to graze and get territorial like a gorilla.
