What was your first job? My first job was working in retail, in my local shopping centre. I hated working on the shop floor for hours but loved the financial independence it gave me at 17.
What’s been your worst job interview? For Harvey Nichols, I wore a crisp white shirt and managed to spill my coffee all down the front. Half way through the interview I broke the ice and talked about it, making my interviewer laugh… and I actually got the job!
What was the first music single you bought? Probably Britney Spears - Baby One More Time, I bought the cassette! If you can remember those.
How do you describe your job to your mates? I make delicious crisp alternative snacks, made out of black eyed peas, that they’re going to love!
What is the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part of my job is expressing my creative side everyday through the brand and seeing people enjoy the snacks I created in my kitchen.
What is the least rewarding part? Having to deal with all aspects of the business, some are less fun and more mundane but need to be done.
What is your motto in life? ‘La joie de vivre la vie’ - the joy of living life.
If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? More hours in the day!
Do you have any phobias? Not being successful - I’ve always wanted to have my own business and be part of something that grew to be bigger than me. And spiders. I hate spiders.
If you could change one thing in grocery, what would it be? A better programme to combat food waste - if stock is going off that day or the next day, creating a better programme where the people who need it can access it.
What animal most reflects your personality? I would say a panther.
What’s your favourite film and why? Some of my favourites include Amelie, The Notebook, The Equalizer and Lord of the Rings.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? I had to fill in for another student and sing a solo during a school play in secondary school and I cannot sing very well so that was quite mortifying and nerve-racking.
