What was your first-ever job? Rolling puff pastry in the family bakery.
What’s been your worst job interview? A telephone interview with a terrible line. There are only so many times you can ask someone to repeat something without sounding like a wally.
What was the first music single you bought? I can’t remember the first single but the first album was The Fugees - The Score. On cassette. My taste in music has only gone downhill from there.
How do you describe your job to your mates? Running your own business is like a rollercoaster. But that works for me because I believe life is too short for a boring job and far too short for boring food.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job? Watching people’s reaction to their virgin mochi moment is always fun.
What’s the least rewarding part? Machinery breakdowns. They always seem to happen at the worst possible moment, requiring the most expensive part that needs to be sent from the furthest country.
What’s your motto in life? Everything in moderation, including moderation.
What’s your nickname? Wongo - full marks to my friends for originality!
If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? Unlimited expenses for travel, food and wine. So basically, the perks my old finance friends seem to get!
What’s your favourite movie and why? Indiana Jones was my childhood favourite. What a hero.
What’s been the most embarrassing moment in your life? Answering the phone to my teacher who informed me I was sleeping through my physics A-level practical exam.
Do you have any phobias? Turbulence.
If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? I firmly believe healthier, cleaner ingredients would make us a happier nation and take a lot of strain off the NHS.
What luxury would you have on your desert island? A solar-powered iPad, fully loaded with all the movies, music and books I’ve been too busy to enjoy these past few years.
What animal best reflects your personality? I’m probably like a monkey because I’m inquisitive, have a short attention span and I like to climb.
