What was your first-ever job? When I was a student, I worked delivering new Vauxhalls across the UK. Trust me, if you were on the receiving end of one, it had been ‘tested’ very thoroughly!
What was the first music single you bought? I was a kid in the 1980s, so my first single was Shakin’ Stevens - Green Door!
How do you describe your job to your mates? I tell them I help to sell really healthy food to more people (and I help save the planet a bit too).
What is the most rewarding part of your job? The sheer variety of things I get to do at work and any customer meetings that drive change.
What is the least rewarding part? Data reporting and trackers are my least favourite things to do.
What is your motto? Seek forgiveness, not permission. I’d much rather regret stuff I’ve done than have never tried it.
What’s your nickname? JC, CJ or, occasionally, Julesblade.
If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? I wish I could have a never-ending supply of any car that exists
What’s your favourite movie and why? It would have to be The Full Monty. I’m a Sheffield lad, so I find it hilarious and it brings to life Sheffield’s character.
What’s been the most embarrassing moment in your life? Probably when I fell asleep in front of an agency - OK, we’ve all done that in a big audience, but there were two of us, and two of them! I reckon the night before was to blame
Do you have any phobias? Trackers.
If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Jimmy Carr: he’s got irreverent humour and we should aim to laugh every day - it’s a great way to brighten the office.
If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? I wish I could change short termism. I’d love to talk to our retailers much more about how we build plans beyond year one to truly delight their shoppers.
What luxury would you have on your desert island?A Lamborghini Aventador (are you spotting the theme yet?).
What animal best reflects your personality and why? I played ‘what animal are you’ online to try to answer this and I found that I’m a baboon. You should never trust online market research.
