What was your first job? In school holidays as a teen I used to work on market stalls with my mum.
What’s been your worst job interview? I’ve only ever had two job interviews… both went well, but when we pitched with Didsbury Gin on Dragons’ Den, in front of a few million people and five investors, that was probably the most stressful.
What was the first music single you bought? Shakermaker by Oasis… Shake along with meeeeee.
How do you describe your job to your mates? They think we sit about and drink all day. They’re wrong. I mean, we’ve got a bar, pool table and arcade machine in the office, but I spend more time on Excel and Zoom than I do drinking or making cocktails.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing a diverse range of people enjoy our products, and watching the company grow from being born in my living room to becoming a nationally recognised brand. Also beating Mark (co-founder) at pool every day.
What is the least rewarding part? Spending more time in Excel than being sat at the bar in our office.
What is your motto in life? Just do your best and chase your ambitions – if you get it wrong, so what? It’s a lesson, not a failure
If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? A box at Old Trafford so we don’t have to queue for a beer at half time, but then immediate access back to the terrace for a sing song.
Do you have any phobias? Liverpool winning the League filled me with fear for a while.
If you could change one thing in grocery, what would it be? Christmas shopping chaos. Why?!
What luxury would you have on a desert island? A Greggs bakery.
What animal reflects your personality? I asked the office this question and got varied responses, including Tigger, the Tasmanian devil and a hyper puppy – so I guess a cross-breed!
What’s your favourite film and why? Goodfellas – so many iconic scenes. Or Quadrophenia? Or Saturday Night Fever, just for the disco. Can I have three?
What would your death row meal be? Could I get a takeout from my desert island bakery?
