Premier Foods brand Ambrosia is targeting the sweet snacking market with the launch of its new ambient Mousse and Desserts pots.
Its Milk Chocolate Mousse Pots will roll into Tesco on 16 August, with wider grocery rollout to follow (rsp: £2.50/4x60g).
Meanwhile, a duo of layered Desserts Pots – vanilla with caramel sauce and chocolate with fudge sauce – will launch later this month (rsp: £2.50/4x110g).
All three SKUs will be available to buy in multipacks of four and would bring the “delicious creaminess of Ambrosia that consumers know and love into convenient snacking options”, said the brand.
The pots met “everyday dessert needs”, providing options that could be enjoyed on-the-go or at home, it added.
The launches would expand Ambrosia’s presence within ambient desserts and help extend the appeal of the category overall, said Premier Foods brand director for desserts Daniel Jalalpour.
“By applying our technical capabilities in making great-tasting, ambient products, we’ve been able to create a snackable range with the added convenience of cupboard storage”, he added.
It comes after Premier Foods forecasted profits at the “top end of expectations” last month after what it said was an “encouraging” start to the year.
Despite a 13.2% year-on-year decline after the surge in stockpiling in the corresponding period in 2020, total sales in Q1 over a two-year basis grew 6.3%, surpassing expected 5%-6% growth, it said.
