Upmarket ingredients company Belazu has teamed up with Miso Tasty to launch a Miso Harissa Cooking Paste.
The limited-edition NPD is billed as the first of its kind and a fusion of two popular cuisines, showcasing “the hero product from each brand”.
It is said to combine “peppery warm spices from Belazu’s signature Rose Harissa paste” with “deep umami notes from Miso Tasty’s classic red miso paste”, “carefully balanced with balsamic glaze and honey notes for a perfectly rounded, versatile and ready to use ingredient”.
Miso Tasty founder Bonnie Chung called it a “magical” combination, adding it was “absolutely irresistible on eggs”.
It could also be used in scrambled eggs, soups, salads, sandwiches, or as a marinade for meat, fish and vegetables, said Belazu.
The NPD will roll into Ocado, Sous Chef and the brand’s web store from 10 October (rsp: £4.55/165g).
August saw Belazu launch a vegan spin on Italian ’nduja paste, made from fermented Calabrian chillies yet containing no xanthan gum, palm oil or gelling agents.
