Cadbury is launching a range of lower-calorie chocolate bars, called Delights.
Three flavours – Salted Caramel, Orange & Caramel and Hazelnut & Caramel – will roll into retailers in February in multipacks of five.
The bars comprise a “soft nougat filling and caramel layer” and weigh in at 91 calories per serve (rsp: £1.99/5x22g).
The launch of Delights was “particularly exciting for the Cadbury brand”, said Delights brand manager Abi Eayrs.
Consumers were “increasingly looking for lower-calorie snacks where they don’t have to compromise on taste or satisfaction”, she said.
“We believe our new range of Cadbury Delights presents a huge opportunity for retailers and wholesalers to drive incremental sales.”
The launch will be supported by a campaign spanning digital, audio, PR and sampling.
It comes after Cadbury owner Mondelez last month revealed that reduced sugar versions of Cadbury Crunchie, Double Decker, Fudge and Fry’s Turkish Delight could soon hit supermarket shelves.
The confectionery giant has developed “ground-breaking” technology, which it claims could help reduce the amount of sugar and fat from its chocolate and biscuit brands by up to 75%, by replacing them with plant-based fibres.
