Meal kit supplier Gousto has added a range of nine authentic Indian dishes to its cook-at-home recipe boxes.
Its new Taste of India range is designed to offer customers authentic and traditional cuisine from across India, and Gousto said the nine meals use unique ingredients and authentic cooking processes.
Gousto added that although Indian food is known for its flavour, the number of spices used means it can often seem daunting and complicated to cook a dish from scratch, so the series has been developed to make it easy for consumers to create “adventurous” meals at home.
The Taste of India recipes include: Creamy Chicken Makhani with Buttered Naan from the north; Malabar-Style Cauliflower Curry with Basmati Rice from the south; Bengali Mustard Fish with Fragrant Rice from the east; and Goan Prawn Balchao Curry with Basmati Rice from West India.
Prices start at £2.98 per portion.
The recipes have been created by Gousto’s recipe developer Sonali Shah. She said it was through creating these new recipes that she wanted to share her knowledge with “the thousands of people who rely on Gousto each week to bring simple, but tasty and nutritious meals into their homes”.
“Each dish has been lovingly created using authentic flavours giving our customers a taste of India that is as true as possible to its origins,” Shah said.
This launch comes as the meal kit firm advertised on TV for the first time last month through its £2m campaign.
