John West will look to open up new usage occasions for canned fish in June with the launch of a new range of tuna-based Cracker Toppers.
The products are a “reinvention” of John West’s existing Spreadables lineup, and are designed to “showcase usage in a more focused way” for use on crackers and crispbreads, said the supplier’s international marketing director Jon Burton.
Available in metal cans, the single-serve Toppers required no preparation, Burton said, and were a “quick and convenient” snacking alternative.
The products combine tuna with four flavour mixes: Mayo & Sweetcorn, Mexican-style, Mediterranean and Sweet Chilli (rsp: £1.10/80g pot).

John West is also planning to expand its Steam Pots range in June, with the launch of five new flavours using cous cous, rice, pasta or noodles.
The NPD follows the launch of John West’s No Drain Fridge Pots last autumn, described by Burton as a “breakthrough in tuna packaging” that had modernised the ambient tuna market.
