Little Moons is jumping on the blonde chocolate bandwagon with its latest mochi ice cream flavour.
Golden Blond Chocolate (rsp: £4.50/6x32g) combines caramelised white chocolate with a “silky smooth golden white chocolate gelato, studded with caramelised white chocolate pieces” – wrapped in the brand’s signature soft rice dough.
In line with the rest of the range, it is gluten-free and free from artificial flavourings, colourings and preservatives.
It will roll exclusively into Tesco tomorrow (9 August).
The NPD would tap the blonde chocolate trend, which had “grown substantially in popularity over the last 12 months, recording growth of 597%”, said Little Moons.
Co-founder Howard Wong said he was “delighted to be leading the charge with our new Golden Blond Chocolate mochi bites, as we continue our mission to bring new and exciting flavours to our customers”.
“As Europe’s leading mochi ice cream brand, we’re committed to driving change within the category, creating snackable moments that can be enjoyed throughout the day and which give fans a little lift.”
It comes after a flurry of recent launches from brands and retailers hoping to capitalise on the blonde chocolate trend.
Cadbury, for instance, extended its Caramilk range beyond the core bar format in February with the launch of Caramilk Buttons.
Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Aldi, meanwhile, all showcased blonde chocolate Easter eggs this year.
