Rum brand Dead Man’s Fingers has launched its first tequila.
The 40% abv drink is billed as “a quality reposado liquid”, which had been “aged in bourbon barrels to create rounded notes of vanilla and honey”, said the brand.
It has rolled into Booker and Tesco (rsp: £22/70cl).
“Tequila has seen good growth over the past couple of years, particularly within in the on-trade ahead of the pandemic, but then also benefiting from the rise in popularity of cocktails at home during lockdowns”, said Dead Man’s Fingers global marketing manager Rachel Adams.
“As a result, it’s a really exciting time to be entering such a vibrant category with our Dead Man’s Fingers Reposado, which we’re confident will appeal to our adventurous Dead Man’s Fingers rum fans,” she added.
The launch comes at a buoyant time for the brand, which saw value sales of its hero Spiced Rum grow by 77.2% to £11.2m in the 52 weeks to 11 September 2021 [NielsenIQ].
In January, it launched its “deliciously smooth and velvety” Raspberry Rum Cream Liqueur.
