Unilever-owned Wall’s has launched Twister Fruit Zingerrr, its first-ever sweet and sour ice lolly.
Made with real fruit juice, it contains no artificial flavours or colourings, and provides 65 calories per serving.
It is available in a multipack of four (rsp: £2.25) and as a single (rsp: £1.40) across grocery, wholesale and convenience.
Twister Fruit Zingerrr is part of Wall’s non-HFSS lineup for children. It bears the ‘Responsibly Made for Kids’ logo, signalling the brand’s commitment “to offer permissible treats and empower parents and caregivers to make better choices that also bring happiness, joy and excitement to kids”. This includes never actively targeting under-18s and never using licensed characters.
“By offering an entirely non-HFSS kids portfolio, we’re providing an even easier choice to parents for those treat and dessert occasions,” said Jennifer Dyne, head of ice cream at Wall’s owner Unilever.
“In a competitive marketplace, sometimes you’ve got to twist things up to stand out from the crowd, and the Fruit Zingerrr, with its bold and vibrant flavour profile and bright colourful look, does exactly that.”
Last year, Twister enjoyed buoyant sales, growing volumes 29.2% [NielsenIQ 52 w/e 10 September 2022]. It was “a product with positive consumer sentiment”, Dyne added. “It’s loved by kids and adults alike, who are looking for a fruity and refreshing option when choosing an ice cream.”
