Sainsbury’s has awarded its facilities management company Arcus a four-year contract to continue looking after its store estate.
Arcus will continue to provide bespoke maintenance services to over 300 Sainsbury’s stores, such as cleaning, fire safety, lighting, drainage and refrigeration services. It has provided facilities management services for the supermarket since 2009, during which time it has introduced “innovative solutions” including remote refrigeration monitoring.
This new £28m per annum contract comes as an extension of Arcus’ current contract with Sainsbury’s, through which it will maintain its store facilities until 2026. This means Arcus and Sainsbury’s will work together until 2030.
“Arcus understands the challenges of the retail industry and overcomes them with fresh, innovative ideas that make a big difference,” said Sainsbury’s head of facilities management Danny Malyon.
Arcus managing director Chris Green added: “We are delighted to have secured this contract and we’re excited to continue this journey with Sainsbury’s to deliver an excellent customer experience.”
