Scottish Courage Brands is turning the heat up on its premium competitors with the latest execution of a series of ads for Kronenbourg 1664.
The new ad, which breaks this week, shows a Latin beauty attracting much male attention as she sits at a table outside a continental street café.
A succession of men working nearby, including a butcher, an electrician and a road worker, appear magnetised by her charms to the point where their distraction seems likely to lead to injury.
The woman is oblivious to the hazard she causes until a stern gendarme approaches and covers her glass of Kronenbourg 1664 with his cap. A stylised title reading "femme fatale", appears on the screen, before the closing shot shows the woman taking a gulp of her beer as she is led away by the policeman.
The new ad, which runs to the end of the year, is the finale in the £12m campaign for Kronenbourg in 2000.
