Fido Dido is returning as the face of 7UP as part of a £1.5m push for the fizzy soft drink.
The cartoon character returns to packs for a limited period from this month as a football theme links the brand to the build-up for the Euro 2004 championships in Portugal.
On-pack ‘Fidosophies” on the beautiful game will include lines such as ‘It’s not how you win the cup, it’s what you fill it with’ and ‘the real number 7’.
Support will include branded merchandising.
Richard Collins, director of brand marketing at Britvic, which makes and distributes 7UP in the UK, said: “The activity is guaranteed to make the brand relevant to a whole new group of consumers.”
