McDougalls is the latest brand to tap into the growing popularity of French-style pastries for breakfast or a teatime snack, with a five-strong range of morning goods that can be cooked at home.
RHM Frozen has used its pastry knowledge to develop frozen packs of Pain au Chocolat, Croissants, Pecan Danish, Cinnamon Danish and Custard Danish that can be enjoyed warm out of the oven.
Sold in packs of four, five and six in all the multiples from next month with an rsp of £1.99, the range helps avoid pastries going stale in a bread box as they can be cooked individually when desired, the company said.
“Interest in fresh morning goods has been heightened by the growth in coffee shops and instore bakeries, driven by the appeal and aroma of fresh baking,” said Alison Wright, head of marketing at RHM Frozen. “Home baking straight from the freezer is quick and effortless.”
