Australia’s Cobram Estate aims to gain further listings for its premium olive oils in the UK.
The New World estate has its Murray Valley Blend and Lemon Twist 100% Australian premium extra virgin olive oils, both rsp £4.99 for 375ml, on sale in Tesco stores.
The 200-acre grove was established in 1996 and produced its first oil in 2000.
The estate’s Craig Dugan said the oils offered “a huge difference” to Old World oils, with a different texture and taste.
“Our oils have had a great reception in Britain at tastings,” said Dugan. “It is a process of education and it has been slow to start with but now interest is starting to build.”
Cobram Estate extra virgin 2002 harvest will retail at £7.99 for 375ml should it gain shelf space in the UK.
