Shares in Associated British Foods rose 6.5p to finish on 932p yesterday after the group revealed it had acquired Indian food company Patak's in a deal thought to be worth more than £100m.
The deal includes the Patak's brand and assets in all countries except India and Associated British Foods will combine Patak's with its pan-oriental business Blue Dragon and ethnic wholesale company Westmill Foods.
Analysts said that Patak's was a good fit for Associated British Foods.
